Things to do

We have fantastic walking in the immediate countryside. There are 4 footpaths right outside the front door. 

The South Downs are a short distance away, areas of particular beauty with fantastic views are Devils Dyke, Chanctonbury Ring (can be seen from further along Rookcross Lane) and Cissbury Ring.

There are many historic houses and gardens in the area including:-
Leonardslee Gardens, Nymans gardens, Parham House, Wakehurst Place and Arundel Castle.

Museums includes the Amberley Working Museum, Down and Wealden Open Air Museum.

The Cartusian Monastery of St Hugh's founded in 1877 by the Monks expelled from France is a few miles away just the other side of Partridge Green village.

There are Theatres at Brighton, Chichester and Crawley, which are all nearby.  Cinemas can be found in Horsham and Crawley.  

For sporting enthusiasts there are 10 golf courses within 10 miles. Horse racing at Goodwood (which also hosts the motor ‘Festival of Speed’), Fontwell and Plumpton. Polo at Knepp Castle and other local venues. Equestrian events at Hickstead and the South of England showground. Gliding at Parham.
